The Old English sheepdog Club of America now officially has an open registry. Please keep in mind this is a work in progress at the very beginning stages. I for one appreciate everyones efforts in this work. It is a monumental task. As a person with a dog listed in that registry I am very proud of the work and the people that have come forward and included their dogs. This is our club and breeds finest hour. I would not expect anyone to nitpick this project to death. I'm sure there are those that would have done it differently, but this was fashioned after the very successful and very well thought of Scottie website. It has taken the Scottie Club many years to get where they are with their CA information. We will be the same, I'm sure. This is a very good start. In a project like this in the pedigree database there are going to be mistakes. You can submit your changes, they have provided an avenue for that. I submitted a change on my dog and got an error. I have notified the webmaster and copied the error. Please give it a few days before you submit changes and BE PATIENT for those changes to take affect.

This is a wonderful tool for the future of our breed. I ask that each and every one of you treat these dogs and their owners with respect. How we react now will determine the future of this website and the dogs included in it. We need to show the world that we as keepers of this wonderful breed can set aside any differences we may have for this breeds welfare. I thank each and everyone of you for this.

The link to the website is http://www.oescahealthregistry.org There should be a link on oesca official website soon. You will need to register and log in. Before you can see the CA affected dogs list you will need to read the three articles provided about Cerebellar Abiotrophy. I suggest you read them. This is a learning tool, the articles are very important.
